Wilberforce Machimbidzofa

Chief Executive Officer.

Wilberforce Machimbidzofa is the Chief Executive Officer of WAICA Re Zimbabwe effective 1 st April 2019. A career reinsurer and qualified lawyer, he has over 35 years’ experience in the industry, more than 25 of them at Executive level both in reinsurance underwriting and reinsurance broking.

He has extensive knowledge of African markets, having operated in many of these markets over his many years in industry and is very well connected in global markets. As a very active team player and strong marketer, he has been the driving force behind the rapid growth of WAICA Re Zimbabwe into a leading player in the Southern African markets within a very short period.

Wilberforce is a holder of a Bachelor of Law (Honours) degree from the University of Zimbabwe and an Executive MBA (General Management) from East & Southern Africa Management Institute.
