Ms. Hilda Shindi

Director.

Hilda Shindi brings 18 years of boardroom experience across private and public companies. She began her governance career as an Executive Director of a listed company, where she pioneered a culture of financial discipline, revamped treasury management, and strengthened stakeholder relationships. Her non-executive roles include serving as Vice Chairperson of quasi-governmental and private-sector boards, including her instrumental role on the inaugural board of the Zimbabwe Energy Regulation Authority (ZERA), where she contributed to its successful establishment.

 

At ZIMSEC, Hilda was first engaged as a turnaround strategist before being appointed Vice Chairperson of the Board, driving operational and governance reforms that restored the organization’s performance. Her leadership extends to chairing board and committee meetings with a focus on accountability and strategy.

 

Hilda’s recent governance roles include Deputy Chairperson of one of Zimbabwe’s largest banks (serving concurrently as Chair of the Audit and Compliance Committee for nine years) and Vice Chairperson & Treasurer for a prominent private schools group. As a business executive, her 20-year track record spans local and international markets, covering finance, risk management, and management consultancy.

 

Currently, Ms. Hilda Shindi serves as Executive Head of Assurance and Risk at Amalgamated Brands (a Takura Capital FMCG holding company). Previously, she led BTD, a consultancy specializing in turnaround strategies and leadership development for mining houses, utilities, and listed conglomerates. She has also advised the World Bank and GIZ on finance and business strategy, managing large-scale projects.

 

Her career reflects expertise in navigating complexity, fostering cross-sector collaboration, and building systems that deliver sustainable impact.
